Department of children’s orthopaedics has been involved in experimental research for years, which has been published in several PhD studies.

At the moment both clinical and experimental research is being conducted on regulation of bone growth to improve treatment of limb length inequality and mechanical axis deviations. Furthermore a number of projects has been initiated together with danish pain research center to improve care for children undergoing orthopaedic surgery.

Experimental research is being conducted at Orthopaedic Research Laboratory,Institute of Clinical Medicine, MR-Research centre and Department of Animal Science, Research Centre Foulum.

Clinical studies are being conducted at Department of Children’s Orthopaedics, Aarhus University Hospital and Department of Orthopaedics, Hospital Unit West. We collaborate with the gait lab at Hammel Neurocenter to perform gait analysis before and after surgery.
